Emergency Contraceptive Pill

At Care Pharmacy Hastings, the Emergency Contraceptive Pill (ECP) — also known as the morning after pill or Plan B — is available without appointment if you may be at risk of pregnancy within 72 hours of intercourse. If you’re unsure, simply drop in for confidential advice. A female pharmacist is usually available.

The ECP must be supplied directly to the woman after a private consultation, including a brief medical history and BMI assessment, as higher BMI may affect effectiveness. You do not need to be 16 years or older, but the pharmacist must ensure informed consent is given.

No appointment required, and in most cases consultations are free.
