Oral Contraceptive Pill

At Care Pharmacy Hastings, selected oral contraceptive pills can be supplied by an accredited pharmacist without a prescription, following a private consultation.

Who Is Eligible?

• You must have previously been prescribed the pill by a Doctor within the last 3 years and had at least two GP visits to discuss it

• Combined oral contraceptive pill: ages 16–39

• Progestogen-only pill: ages 15–52

Only certain commonly used oral contraceptive pills are available through pharmacist supply.

Consultation & Health Checks
An annual consultation is required to review your medical history and ensure the pill remains suitable. For combined pill users, a blood pressure check will also be completed.

A consultation fee applies, and medication costs vary depending on the pill supplied after assessment.
